Ways To Make Your Small Home Look Larger Than Life?

You might be a person that looks at home décor magazines and dreamily wishes that you had a home that looked as big as that and yet, you are stuck in a small home. The truth is however that those homes may not be as big as you think they are and that these interior designs may be using certain techniques of light, colour and shade to give the illusion that the house is a lot bigger than it actually is. Similarly, you might be doing certain things in your home that design wise are wrong and might make your home look a lot smaller than it actually and therefore, changing your homes design and implementing some principles of light and share might be able to help you achieve the home of your dreams without having to move homes at all.

Change your belongings

One way to make space in your home is to get rid of many of the things that you own currently and getting new things. You might think that you cannot afford to get anything new for your home but you will be surprised to see that buying furniture online will cost you a fraction of the price that it would at a qualified home décor store and buying everything you need online will usually be very much within your budget. You will be able to have a garage sale and sell everything that you have and buy new things online for less money than you earned from the garage sale.

When buying your new furniture, make it a point to buy smaller things that take less space. If, for example, you had big bulky chairs in your kitchen or dining room, you could consider replacing them with kitchen breakfast bar stools instead that not only take less space but can be pushed under the table when not in use making them take up a lot less space.

Light colours

The use of light colours in your home can make your home look a lot bigger than it is because the light will reflect of these light coloured
walls giving the illusion of space. This is a lot more prominent with the use of white because light reflects off white walls a lot better than it would with a darker
coloured
wall. You can also achieve this same effect by using mirrors and designs that include mirrors because again the light will reflect off this mirrors to create an illusion of space.
